Through the contributions of many generous people, Salema Village was conceived as a project to which tangible outcomes are attained through a participatory development endeavor to address the most pertinent needs of this community. The intention is to fund three major projects in the village in relation to the following areas of need: Water, Education and Health. The specific design will be determined by the villagers themselves as to what is most appropriate, sustainable and culturally accepted. Further, while these three main components will be the most prominent, additional priorities – as defined by the community- will also be identified and funded on an “as needed” basis.
